ACCESSIBILITY
FEND wants every rider to use fend.io with ease, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnifiers, voice control, or other assistive technology.
OUR STANDARD
We work to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. The World Wide Web Consortium publishes these guidelines to explain how to make websites work for people with disabilities.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE
- Wrote text descriptions (alt text) for product, page, and blog images.
- Added clear labels to buttons, form fields, search, filters, and cart controls.
- Gave every page a main heading and fixed heading order, so screen reader users understand how each page is organized.
- Added pause buttons to autoplaying videos and scrolling logos. Motion stops on its own for visitors whose device is set to reduce motion.
- Grouped product options, such as color and size, so screen readers announce each group by name.
- Made star ratings readable by screen readers.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
Some parts of our site come from outside providers. We do not control their code, and we report any problems we find to them.
- Checkout runs on Shopify.
- Product reviews come from Judge.me.
- Customer chat comes from Gorgias.
- Embedded videos use the YouTube player.
- Partner products sold through Shopify Collective use content from the partner brand.
We are adding captions and transcripts to videos with spoken audio.
